OUR STORY

Gryphon's Nest Campground was created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.  Clifton Eakin, former New Orleans occult shop owner and High Priest of the Coven of the Gryphon, bought the property located in Springfield, LA in 2008.  After a grueling lawsuit to fight an unjust city ordinance regarding Pagan practices, Gryphon's Nest Campground had its first year of festivals and community gatherings in 2010.

Gryphon's Nest holds 4-8 festivals throughout the year, and is also available to rent for other community activities.  This campground is the only known Pagan campground in Louisiana, and is regarded as a safe haven where personal and spiritual liberties are unhampered.  It is dedicated to diversity and the free expression of one's personal view of the divine.  If you've attempted to book a camping space for a wedding, religious rite, encounter group, or alternative lifestyle group and been turned down because your gathering was considered too "radical," our campground is the place you've been looking for.  We embrace the "out of the ordinary."

We can cater to both large and small events, and offer a variety of activities.  Our swampland is perfect for catching both catfish and crawfish.  Engage nature by kayaking through the bayou's swamp elm and cypress trees to spot our local wildlife, or relax poolside on our clubhouse patio.  Whatever retreat you are looking for, we can help!
